Institutes and High-TechDeepen knowledgeThe presence of both numerous research institutes and university-associated institutes in the region testifies to the importance of the area as a location for high technology. Without research, there are no new products, and without new products, there are no new markets.
Technical University Munich (TU München)The Technical University Munich, with its campus in Garching, is among the best universities in Germany, in Europe, and in the world. Top 10 of European UniversitiesSource: International University Ranking Jiao-Tong-Universität / Shanghai, 09/04
Ludwig Maximilian University Munich (LMU München)The faculties of atomic physics, laser physics, high-energy physics and nuclear physics of the LMU München are located in the NordAllianz. Within the NordAllianz , the TU und LMU Munich operate the Maier-Leibnitz-Laboratorium (former particle accelerator laboratory). In the Maier-Leibnitz-Laboratorium, the electrostatic linear accelerator propels ions at high speeds with up to 14 million volts. The NordAllianz is thus home to research at the highest levels.
GSFThe GSF - National Center for Environment and Health is another institute located within the NordAllianz. The GSF researches one of the most important issues of our society: The health of humans within the natural environment.
Max Planck SocietyFour different physics institutes affiliated with the Max Planck Society are active in the NordAllianz.
